In Austin, a significant 39% of both homeowners and renters indicated that they relocated to their present residences in 2019 or later. Following closely, Dallas and Las Vegas claimed the second and third spots, attracting 35% of movers during the same period.

When considering the 50 largest metropolitan regions overall, an average of 29% of homeowners and renters transitioned to their current abodes since 2019.

As expected, renters are over three times more likely than homeowners to have undergone recent relocations. On average, a notable 51% of renters in the nation’s largest 50 metros moved into their current homes since 2019, compared to an average of 17% among homeowners. Among homeowners, the most favored metro areas were Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Tampa, each with an average migration rate of 22%. For renters, the top choices were Austin, Salt Lake City, and Denver, showing an average migration rate of 62% to these locales.
