NASCAR Cup Series: 16 to 12 Drivers, Logano's Reign Ends
Following Bristol, the NASCAR Cup Series playoff field was reduced from 16 to 12.
Stenhouse, McDowell, Harvick, and Logano are out of the running for the championship.
In the second round of the playoffs, there are still four former champions.
The first defending champion to be defeated in the opening round is Logano.
After this season, Harvick, a 2014 champion, won't compete regularly.
As the next race in Fort Worth approaches, teams travel to Texas Motor Speedway.
10 races make up the playoffs, with the third, sixth, and ninth races serving as eliminations.
At Phoenix Raceway, the final four drivers will compete for the championship.
