Cadiz-Barcelona Paused After Fan Suffers Heart Attack

The Spanish league game between Barcelona and Cadiz was paused for more than an hour on Sunday after a supporter suffered a heart attack in the stands. The game was eventually resumed with Barcelona leading 2-0. A Cadiz statement confirmed the fan was resuscitated, while a camera operator was also treated. The team dispatched a defibrillator to the stadium and a second defibrillator was offered by Barcelona. Both the fan and the camera operator were taken to a nearby hospital.

The referee halted the game after the fan collapsed and had a heart attack. The match was then resumed after the players had gathered in the locker room. After the long delay, the game went on for the final eight minutes. In the meantime, Barcelona scored four goals, with Ansu Fati scoring two of them. Another goal came from Frenkie de Jong. Robert Lewandowski scored one goal. After the game, Barcelona manager Sergio Gonzalez said that he was “very sorry” for the fans’ inconvenience.

Resuscitation attempt successful

The game between Cadiz and Barcelona was paused for over 50 minutes after a fan suffered a heart attack while in the stands. The game was eventually resumed at 9.05 pm local time. The fan was resuscitated and a camera operator was also treated. According to the club’s statement, the fan’s pulse was re-established during the pause and he was transported to the hospital.

The referee has to stand in and monitor the situation. He is trying to ensure that both sides remain calm and try to continue the game. The referee has to be on his toes, but he does not seem to be taking the incident lightly.

The match will resume at an appropriate time. Barcelona is celebrating its 112th anniversary this year, and they will be keen to keep their winning streak intact. Barcelona is at -400 odds to win, while Cadiz is +1100. A draw is at +490.

Barcelona win 4-0

The match between Barcelona and Cadiz was interrupted in the 83rd minute due to a medical emergency. A supporter of the away team suffered a heart attack behind the goal and the match was stopped to give medical help. Cadiz goalkeeper Conan Ledesma raced across the pitch and delivered a defibrillator. As a result, the match was delayed an hour. Both Barcelona and Cadiz players prayed for the supporter, who is now in a stable condition.

Cadiz had a strong first half, but were unable to score. After the break, Fede San Emeterio hit a low shot over the bar, but soon after Barcelona struck. The referee, Cerro Grande, just shakes his head at the cries of the away fans. Xavi was already preparing to bring on three super-subs when Gavi burst through the middle after receiving a pass from Raphinha. The resulting cross cannoned out to Frenkie de Jong.
